2200t microSD question

Just upgraded from a Navigon 2100 to the 2200t GPS and noticed I have a microSD slot but no card. On the 2100, I used a SD card to keep a backup in case the original (or upgrade) became corrupted.

I have backed up and upgraded using Navigon Fresh with the 2200t (both orginal and update).

I'm curious as to the reason for the microsd slot. I assume it is for a type of upgrade but what type? Maps?

I currently have Qtr 3, 2008 maps. It appears that it is possible to upgrade to a new version with the purchase of the Fresh Maps but I as well as many other question whether or not to spend the money for a Fresh Maps card (it they can be found at a reasonable cost).
