Navigon 2200T - will software update restore operation?

I've got a relative's 2200T that just shows the title screen; the software got corrupted. If I purchase the Software upgrade from Navigon, will it bring the unit back to life; i.e. will it restore the operating system, if that's the problem?

Thanks, Vernon.

Off hand, Id doubt it. I'd expect the upgrade to look for a legit version already installed - if it's corrupt it may not get recognised, and even if it does, the upgrade may not be a complete replacement, so you might still end up with a corrupt system after paying for the upgrade! I could be wrong, but thought I'd offer something!

Far safer to go on to Navigon's FaceBook page (via their website) and ask them about it. It didn't happen after a recent Fresh upgrade did it - you'll see lots of grief on Facebook over dead units because of it
