I'm thinking of buying this GPS (Magellan explorst GC), but I'd first like to know it is possible to enter the name of a village (or road, crossing, etc.) to find a location?
And do you know if I can use this GPS for simple use on bike trips? Is it easy for non-geocaching use?

Thanks for answering as quick as possible =)

The eXplorist GC doesn't contain a full road mapping so you won't be able to find streets by name, intersections, addresses, etc.
  • i just got the explorist 310 for $50 more. does a whole lot more. it will find any location. well worth it, the GC is only for geocashes (not sure if that's spelled correctly). the 310 is for that and deep woods trecking. sort of a bridge between the geocashers and hard core hikers.

as far as roads go it has every road you could want on a base map, even 4 wheeler roads.
