Navigon Fresh: Cannot find the device

I have a completely new SD-card in my Navigon Fresh.
All of a sudden the program software cannot find my device no matter how I try.
I got a theory that this might require a backup of some kind. (Which I assume needs to be placed on the empty SD-card)
However, I'm not too sure of anything and would like some clarity.
could there be another explanation?

Any help here will be much appreciated!
