TREDYFFRIN -- Navteq, the world’s largest digital map maker, is laying off 235 workers at its 1000 Cedar Hollow Road location and shutting operations there, the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry reported in its Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification, or WARN, listing in February.

The layoffs and plant shut down were effective Jan. 1, according to the WARN listing.

The layoffs included the team at the former, acquired by Navteq of Chicago in November 2006 for approximately $179 million.

  • I feel sorry for those that lost their job and I wish then luck but this tells Me that map updated will be even more slower than they are right now.
