Explorist 110 won't connect

When I connect to my PC, the GPS says it is connected but, the Vantage Point software says it isn't connected. I also tried the update software on both my PC and my Mac and get the same error that the GPS is not connected.

I am using a standard Micro USB cable. I did not buy one from Magellan. Is this the issue? The unit says it is connected though.

Do I need to return the unit for another one? Buy the cable from Magellan? Return the unit and get a Garmin?

It could be. We've certainly seen that in the past. Hard to say for sure, but that wouldn't be a surprise at all.

    This.
  • Thanks for the input. As it turns out, I had a better cable lying around and that did the trick. I was able to connect it to both my PC and my Mac.
