Garmin GPSmap 62s How to Insert a Character when Renaming

On my Garmin GPSMAP 62s I was wondering if there was a way to insert a character when changing the name of a track. As it currently is there is a keyboard option that you can enter characters, numbers and special characters, but can't figure out how to actually insert a character into the current name string.

Example, current track is named 2014-02-13 10:45:12 and I want to change it to A2014-02-13 10:45:12... right now it is forcing me to re-type the entire name string.

On my Etrex 20 there are left and right arrows on the keyboard, you just need to select those (if your 62 has them) and press enter ... it moves the cursor along. Not sure it allows you to input another character at the start though.
  • ํYes, I can move the cursor along, but can't add any new character. Example, the initial string is '2014-02-13 10:45:12' and I move the cursor position to the first '-'. If I type in a 'X' character there I would end up with '2014X02-13 10:45:12'. If I then deleted the 'X' I would have '201402-13 10:45:12'.
  • Just called Garmin support. Explained what I was trying to do, eg. track named '2014-02-13 10:45:12' rename it to 'A2014-02-13 10:45:12' (inserting the 'A' character). They said there is no way to do you, the entire string has to be typed in again.

Same as the Etrex range then.
