Will be interesting to see the new direction for the site. Matt is certainly going to be different from Rich! :)
One thing I don’t do well is write, which I’m sure you will be able to tell from this post. I’m in the travel business and so I get the chance to travel alot mainly in the USA. I will be having someone take over the writing soon.

Sad to see, nothing is happening over at GPSTracklog. The same story has been on the home page there for almost a month. I hope this is just a blip while the transition takes place. Rich rarely missed a beat when it came to passing along the latest news and his reviews were very thorough.

I sure miss the old site. 😢

That is why when GPSReview.net was sold I was required to stay onboard for a time. The author IS the site and rarely does a single author site keep the status quo beyond the original owner.

So true. But in this case it isn't even a question of the author's style, it's a complete lack of new content on the site over a long period of time. I'm about ready to remove the link from my bookmarks bar because there's just nothing happening there. But I do see larger ads from different sponsors….

A new article at last http://gpstracklog.com/
  • Boyd 2002 Points
Yes, I just noticed that too! Hooray, looks like we can look forward to a new article every month! :)

They've updated the page again with a mention of the Garmin viago app...not a review but hey, at least it's an update.

Hey - that just went online, I checked the site a couple hours ago and it wasn't there. Good for them, it's great to see some signs of life! :)

And another ... seems it just took a while for them to get their (new) act together :-)

Looks like there has been a new post almost every day now. Glad to see they are getting back up to speed. :)

There's actually a flood of new articles there, written by "Liz E". But the odd thing is, it's not so obvious that these articles exist. But if you click on the author's name you will see quite a few - a total of 18 articles posted in the last week: http://gpstracklog.com/author/eellis

    Nothing of Rich's quality.
  • Boyd 2002 Points
Agreed, but it's nice to see some signs of life over there anyway. :)

So quite a change in direction for Rich. Got an email this morning that he starting a new blog reporting on streaming TV programs!

    Downstreamer.com is his new site.

Yes, and just to the right of her post is still the photo of Rich with the caption 'GPS Tracklog is written by Rich Owings, author of GPS Mapping'. Think they at least need to update that :-)
