Geocaching.com now using Garmin Express to load caches.

I am a premium member of Geocaching.com and got an email from them this morning announcing a new feature for Garmin owners that uses Garmin Express to send lists of caches to your Garmin device.

Here is the gist of the announcement:
New: A magic button for your Garmin GPS

We admit it. Downloading geocaches to your GPS device hasn’t always been easy. But that’s about to change.

Thanks to our recent collaboration with Garmin, Premium members can now send a list of geocaches to their Garmin GPS device with the click of a button. We teamed up with Garmin on this new feature to make geocaching with your Garmin GPS easier than ever.

This is how it works:

Download the latest version of Garmin Express.
Search for geocaches you want to find.
Add those caches to a list.
Visit My Lists.
Select ‘Send to Garmin.’
Unplug and go geocaching!

Geocaching.com used to rely on the Garmin browser plugin to send geocaches directly to the device, but as we know, most browsers have now eliminated support for this type of plugin. So I guess this is the solution that they have worked out with Garmin.

Well Garmin has been pitching Express as their all-around solution for awhile now. Maybe it will even swallow up Basecamp someday? >:)

I am surprised they have not already incorporated POILoader (for custom POI's) into Express, but I hope they don't.
