Add & remove atms etc

I have the smartdrive and at moment it displays atms, petrol stations, restaurants etc on my maps but i can't find were to go to remove some of these displays. I am that frustrated with the garmin i am ready to throw it out the window . Can anyone please explain on easy way to be able to do tjis please

Turn off places up ahead ... personally I like the icons. Note you can change what is shown and select a different three.
