TomTom XL330 Not Recognized by TomTom Home

I have a TomTom XL330. When it is not connected to my MacBook Pro, it shows a flashing red circle containing a white X. When it is connected to the computer (through a USB port), the computer recognizes it, but TomTom Home (version 2.11.6.150) does not recognize it. How can I get TomTom Home to recognize it?

I have managed to get my XL330 back to where it was. I used Disk Utility (Mac) to erase the XL330 and format it as MS-DOS (FAT) with a scheme of Master Boot Record (not GUID Partition Map). I then basically followed the steps in https://us.support.tomtom.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/23935/locale/en_US with several application updates. It now runs as expected, asks if it should be connected to the computer when attached to the USB port, and is recognized by TomTom Home. When TomTom Home recognizes it, I do get:

    "
We're sorry but HOME can't complete that task. Please try again later, or contact customer support. For problems that are stored on your device, we advise you to remove and re-install the item.

It was also necessary to restore my favorites and update some other settings.

Of course, there is still the time problem that started April 6th. When the device is started and there is no satellite recognition, the current time is displayed, but as soon as satellites are picked up, the time changes to 12:00 a.m. Hopefully, TomTom will come up with a fix for this.

For some reason, my previous post deleted part of the error message, and I don't see a way to edit it. The full reference is:
