  • It's there. I am updating my 5100Max as I write this. Good job Navigon..It's great that they just updated the iphone software and we benefit with the new map. Update: The new map works great.
  • I still have the v2.20 installer on my external hard drive.
  • First time out with the new firmware on the 1700 seemed to show that the lag problem is worse. After driving around for awhile it appeared to improve. Checking the number of satellites in use, showed 14 which is a larger number than the old firmwa…
  • Updated mine and it froze after the restart when I had to press the check mark. Resetting it got it back and updated. I'm hoping that it will correct for the position lag. The update is said to "improves navigation functionality ".
  • Navigon does. System files and maps are all on an SD card.
  • So far it looks like it is only up for the 1470. We'll see how long it takes for other models.
  • They do have the Zagat activation card in stock at $18.00 but the cheapest shipping method is over $25.00.
  • I would love to learn more, but I don't have enough postings to use pm's. My email address is peronto2@charter.net. Please email me if you get a chance. Thanks, Jeff
  • Well, I upgraded my software to version MN7.4 and suddenly my Zagat simply works. I don't know how this happened. I guess it's automatically activated? What Navigon model are you using? I have the 5100 Max and Navigon Fresh tells me my software is…
  • My 1700 uses between eight and eleven satellites any time I check and if it wouldn't lag, is very accurate in its position. My Navigon 5100 Max uses around eight satellites most of the time yet is right on the button in position, and lacks the lag …
  • It is frustrating! I found one site that seems to have it, but they won't return my emails about it being in stock. Here is the link: http://gpsacestore.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=shop.flypage &product_id=111&categ…
  • Just tried the eBuyersWorld site and everything I clicked on is out of stock. It would be nice to find somewhere that has stock.
  • I'm in the same position. If more than one is available, I would be interested too.
  • Since the new 1400 series all use the same software, I would assume that once the new software comes out, it will be ported to all the GPS. I think that will also be true of the 1700 and all of the Maestro series.
  • Great write-up jeffp.......Thanks for your observations. I was toying with the idea of getting the 1700 over the 4700 and 1475T. I would have really liked the 4700 but it (bluetooth) did not work well with my new Samsung phone. The 1700 is nice but …
  • jeffp, Can you tell how you managed to receive traffic reports on the 1700...If I read you well.. The 1700 is not traffic enabled..at least in Canada... Traffic was only available on the 4700. I mention it to provide comments on the how im…
  • After ten days and nearly 4000 miles with both the Maestro 4700 and Roadmate 1700, I think I have a better idea how well they work. Both work well and very much the same. The Maestro was mounted on its glass mount to the left of the steering wheel…
  • A couple quick notes. The pointer on the 1700 is smaller than the one on the 4700. Some of the time when I checked, the 1700 had locked to more satellites, but normally they were the same number. Because of the size of the screen, the 1700 shows …
  • OK, GREAT NEWS, I will be testing the fix this comming week for this exact issue of icon being late lagging. So you know there is a fix comming. Everyone happy now! :D Is this fix gonna be across the board....Roadmate 1475T, 1470, etc........or ju…
  • I've seen it occasionally on devices that are not Magellan devices, however it is much less common on other brands. It happens on almost every Magellan device I've used in the past year, including the Magellan iPhone app. It is very annoying, althou…
  • jeffp, Thanks for your info. I will repost when I hear from Magellan customer support and let everyone know what they say. Hopefully, they will be as kind to me as they were to you!!! Best of luck. Keep us up to date. Jeff

  • Tim, Would you say that in your experience the lagging or position problem is common among all brands. Are there units where you know that they display accurate positioning? Or are there sample to sample variations that don't have the software is…
  • I have the same issue after updating to V2.20. I contacted Magellan and they have offered to repair/replace my unit. I can still return it which I may do if the location is not accurate. Maybe PND4ME could tell us if Magellan has a solution in th…
