  • Its not like i want to BROADCAST my tomtom to the car next door with out the FCC getting their monies but dang sure would be nice to get the same volume so i dont scare myself when i change from GPS to RADIO. this sucks thats one of the reas…
  • That is common with just about any FM transmitter I've used. Not for me, the iTrip for my iPod does significantly better (although not perfect). I have tried a TT720 and a TT920, both come in with a very weak volume, which in FM (frequency modulati…
  • The North America Map and the USA & Canada Map have the same coverage area. Neither includes Central America (Mexico). The difference is that the North America map has more POIs, and more detail around water areas (more detailed lakes and rivers…
  • HUDEL!!!!!!!! Western Europe is greatly inferior to Western&Central Europe. i hope you did not delete the WCE map. It is far better. it has better derail in Western Europe and has Eastern Europe data. The difference is similar to the gap betwee…
  • Does anyone have any thoughts on what the situation will be for those of us who are about to buy a 920?. As both the current North America and Western and Central europe are the now the 715 version how are TT going to give us these maps if they won'…
  • 7.15 for USA&Canada is out! Thanks for the heads-up! Weird thing: My TT home does not see the new US map, only the new Western Europe map (which I have already downloaded & updated AND which resides only on my laptop due to space issues on …
  • Yea...It does suck. As for the SD cards, I saw that you should get a fast card, not a normal SD card as that can affect performance. Anybody notice any differance? I picked up the 920 without the reciever because I dont live in an area that offer…
  • Well that just sucks. I bought this particular one as I travel to europe quite a bit and thought it was awesome that the device could hold all the maps without external memory. Guess they under-estimated the growth of the maps.... Will a 2G card …
  • So if I update the europe maps, I will have to keep some data on an SD card, or does the device simple need the extra space to store the temporary files while it performs tue update? Thanks No, yu will need a card as it cannot hold both maps due …
  • Have not experienced it during the map download but have experienced it a number of other times downloading other items from the servers. The TT Servers do have their bad days. Recommend that you park it for a few hours or some other off peak time. …
  • Tim, Infama has apparently confirmed that TT is not including European maps in the 1 year map guarantee I just tried the download of the new Euro map (Intel Mac), TT Home 2.2.1.26. TT Home says there is a free map update, and after I made room for …
  • The receiver seems to work so-so in metro LA and metro SF (at least I receive incidents, although several had cleared when they were still being displayed). The real issue is that there are ABSOLUTELY NO FM stations with a signal on the whole centr…
  • With the new version of TomTom Home (2.2) you no longer need a code for the one year update offer. Yes, this seems like a nice feature, but and in deed it tells me I have access to the newly released Western Euro maps, BUT there is not enough room …
  • It sounds like a power issue and the device doesn't think it is connected to typical car power. This happens frequently when it is plugged into things like power splitters or there is some sort of electrical weirdness in the vehicle. TIM, AS I OUT…
  • I have: never turn off screen checked and have turn off when external power is off, checked, although I tried that one both ways. I tried it again today...when I turned is on it ask me if I wanted to connect to the computer, I hit yes, it connected …
  • Seems like garmin calculates your speed as well making it close to ETA time. My 920 always has extra time left with it's ETA calculation. Neither of them calculates your speed! The ETA is calculated up front. The TT converges to the real arrival …
  • The demo does really strange things to routes and doesn't follow a complete route which might be why it does strange things. I wouldn't take that as any evidence of an issue. Generally I find (as do most others) that the TomTom devices are much mor…
  • Hudel, Are you using v 1.x? or 2.x? Don Oops, I was using 1.8a (downloaded in late Dec 07), I guess these Frenchmen are actively developing it. Will install the 2.x version, thanks for the hint!
  • Beware, while Tripmaster seems to run OK (i.e. shows elevation/altitude), it seems to mess with the TT OS. I now always reboot the TT after running Tripmaster to avoid hanging/messing up the TT OS.
  • I have: never turn off screen checked and have turn off when external power is off, checked, although I tried that one both ways. I tried it again today...when I turned is on it ask me if I wanted to connect to the computer, I hit yes, it connected …
  • Does adding third party software void the warranty? I would hate to damage the unit as well. Tim, have you personally tried any? I have to reboot the TT after using this program as otherwise the regula1r TT OS will malfunction and/or hang.
  • Fuel price functions work for me. Great! Are you a PC or Mac users? My TT says to 1activate Fuel Price in TT Home, but on my Mac I do not see such an option.
  • In my 2006 Honda Accord, the FM Transmitter does not work very well. I have an FM Transmitter for my iPod that works much better. The signal that the TomTom produces is very weak even with the volume set to 100%. I tried many different dead stati…
  • This arbitra1ry 6-month lock-out is still a hassle as I setup up a 720 for my brother-in-law (using my email) and now am unable to work with my own 920...
  • Well, similar errors exits in far less rural errors: In gated communities in SoCal, gates that have long be closed for any traffic (5+ years ago) are still shown as regular roads, leading to wrong routing.
  • This still does not work for me in the US (I can set the check box but there are NO warnings about road-specific speed limits)
