  • However, if you want the new feature of IQR, then I agree you lose FM for the time being. Most people dont use FM any way...too much hassle with interference on longer trips. I am in Toronto and the FM transmitter is worthless as there are no fre…
  • Do you use traffic receiver? Sometimes TT reboots because of traffic data file corruption. In that case you connect your TT to PC and use chkdsk /f
  • Tyre is good too.
  • 112$ is really too much.
  • 660 feet is really quite close and in my experience few addresses are marked with that accuracy. It depends on the area. I found that in some places it is perfect. But in many places it has error from 100 to 800 meters.
  • Great! Thank you! Have they mentioned the price?
  • I do not think this kind of mount is available. If you find one like this please let me know :)
  • I've just picked up a TT 930 and driven it along the 401 across Toronto -- ALG didn't show up once. Yet this is one of the busiest highways in N America (or so the local boosters never tire of telling us; perhaps every city in N America has the busi…
  • I bought 4 Gb card and this is a perfect size to install EU maps and keep some media on it.
  • dhn, Thank you. It seems to be common TT problem especially with traffic receiver.
  • After I cleaned the file, my TT930T stopped hanging and rebooting but traffic does not work. It always shows aquiring data icon. The system re-created the gnsdata file but then I open it I see it filled with 0xff.
  • Does somebody know what is for 'gns' directory in TT930? I found that gnsdata file in this directory is corrupted and unreadable. I think this is the reason why my device reboots when traffic receiver is connected. Also I found on another forum that…
  • It appeared that the reason was faulty traffic receiver. Today it finally stopped working. TT903T always shows that it acquires the traffic data but does not reboot any more. Probably I need to apply for warranty repair.
  • So I used clean-up tool. TT930T works OK without traffic receiver connected (I had a trip north there is no reception). Tomorrow I'll try it with receiver. Thank everybody for the help.
  • tomtom.com/6178 It is difficult to explain what it does other than to say "it clears out some gunk that sometimes gets messed up". Think of it as clearing out your short term memory and rebooting. Tim, you are fast :) I'll try it and report the res…
  • I've begun to suspect that the rebooting may be related to bluetooth at least somewhat. Since disabling it, I've had fewer reboot issues, tho not entirely gone. Just rare now. I found that it is related to traffic receiver connection. After I discon…
  • Since it just started happening and you've been loading the device like that all along, I wouldn't think that the loading would suddenly cause it to break. If it persists, I'd try the Clear Flash tool. What is Clear Flash tool? Sorry, I probably mi…
  • Hey Tim, The EPT icon des not appear in the bottom right hand corner of the screen when I am travelling through tunnels, the screen goes grey and fails to track my movement through tunnels here in Sydhey. It did work before I asked my service cent…
  • Only one thing is coming to my mind is that speakers and mike in TT may create a loop.
  • I had no problem with my 920. First I read related topics on this forum. After that I made request on TT site and attached scan image of receipt. It is true that it takes them few days to answer. So I waited for 3 days and called to technical suppor…

  • I have similar setup. New European cards I installed on SD card and everything works fine. Try to update or reinstall the application.
  • Any idea on when we can get our hands on a 930 in Canada? Other than driving to Buffalo. :D I bought TT 930T 2 weeks ago in Best Buy Markham. It also available on their website. I could not find any other store in Canada sells it. So far I happy wi…
  • LCD cleaner should work well, but use it in a tiny quantity, touch screens are not quite as "sealed". I've never seen the need for those clear shields except on the outdoor models, but other people like them. I've had the best luck with the ones by …
  • I loved this device and it's features. There is only one thing that spoiled whole thing. It is a bad sound. Using hands free was always impossible because of that.

  • I work with FCC requirements all the time. It is easy to violate their rules. Once you submit your device for test it includes device and software. After you pass the test you can release new software which can violate the rules but it is OK. Your d…
  • So finally I did it :P I gave up to get all 8 MB visible on my computer. I let Windows XP to format the drive with 3.9 GB size and installed WE maps on it. After that I copied the maps to the computer. At least I have it. TT 930 recognizes the maps…
  • I still can't believe TomTom was so shortsighted in the 930's design. I mean come on. When all of your new maps don't fit on the device w/o deleting other files on it first, you've got to go back to the drawing board or stop being so stingy / chea…
  • I agree, the 930 is a top what you can get GPS unit. I tested TT 920 for 3 weeks and I can say that there are are many improvements between 920 and 930. The routing is much better. It even catches local short cuts. The maps are much better, the POI'…
  • What are the files for European VR? How to remove them? I removed WE maps and it deleted whole the folder. Now I have a hard time to make my XP machine to recognize SDHC 8GB card  According to TT 930 spec it supports SDHC but my XP computer …
  • I deleted old European maps and Churches POI's but still it says me that 215.7 MB of free space is needed. I'm going to the store to buy 8 GB SD card.
  • On the TT support page I found the next: When a new or updated map is installed, it does not delete any earlier versions of the map on your device. If you need to create space on your memory card/hard disk to install the new map, you may need to del…
  • Well. the download info says that WE map size is 1882.0 MB. I kind of surprised that it asks for such a big space. Old WE map is 1434.9 MB so the difference is approximately 400 MB. I did not install any VR yet. Today is too late, but tomorrow I'll …
  • Today there is a new pice label in the store (499.99). Also they have 'goose neck' mounts for TomTom all models. Future Shop has 50$ price reduction on TT920
  • Today found TT930 in BestBuy Canada 499.99. They reduced the price. http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?sku_id=0926INGFS10101137&logon=&langid=EN I'm going to return my 920 which I bought in Future Shop for 450$ and get 930. I'm a …

  • I just finished talking to TT technical support. It appeared that TT920 has 1 year (not 30 days) latest maps garantee.
  • Thank you for the answer. Will it read subfolders?
  • I have a a 920 and also a Garmin. The Garmin does indeed do a better job of getting your exact location correct but it has made some really huge mistakes as well. Yesterday's record was 550 meters from the target :) I found that some areas are perfe…
  • From reading many posts on Canadian mapping, it looks like some areas are better served by Telatlas and others by Navteq. If the maps for the TT920 are provided by the Canadian Government then its a Navteq Canadian Government issue. Would be int…
  • In the copyright notice TT920 states that data for Canadian maps is provided by Government of Canada and another 3-d party company. I do not remember exact name.
  • For any Canadians, I found a vendor selling the 930 in Toronto. infonec.com $429 CND with a flat rate $15 shipping charge. To the mods, my apologies if we're not allowed to post any sales info, only trying to be helpful. Regards AJ Their website d…
  • Last week I saw TT930 on GPSmart site located in Toronto. Now it disappeared.
  • Yes, I read the article about destination left/right. But for some POI's it does not work. And I did not do any homework before I hit the road. Determining it on the go is pretty tricky. About house location: Magellan and Garmin show better results …
  • I just checked my area (Aurora, Ontario) in mapinsight.teleatlas.com. This community is changing very rapidly. I can say I cannot see 2 years old streets. Navteq devices such as Magellan and Garmin already have it.
  • How is it about addresses in Europe? In NA it is awful. It shows house location +-200 meters from the original place.
  • Thank you, Tim. I could not find this information anywhere. I'm considering buying TT920. It looks like I'll give it a try.
