PostBrand new Nuvi 770 not booting after Firmware update  Thu Mar 20, 2008 8:34 pm    Reply to topic Reply with quote

Hello!

I just recieved brand new Nuvi 770.

First thing I did with it was to plug it to my MAC and upgrad its firmware to
2.6

After this opertaion I was asked to disonnect it from my computer and reboot.

I did so and now I am not able to pass "Garmin Welcom Screen" which says "Powered by SirFINstantFixII"

My device just stays on this screen.

Could it be that I haven't yet fully charged my batteries and once they are charged the problem will disappear?
(I have been charging them for more then 2 hours via USB cable)

My MAC OS/Windows is not able to see the device anymore as well..

That doesn't sound good. I assume you've tried a reset?

I just got my new 750 today. I downloaded Webupdater first and then did th update to 2.6.

I disconnected using the safely remove hardware icon and when I turned on the unit, it said loading maps and then stuck on the screen you mentioned. I then held the on button all the way to "on" till it re-booted and then everything worked good.
