The new cityXplorer maps contain the latest mapping data for select cities/areas along with cityXplorer Enhanced Pedestrian Navigation data for those compatible (currently the 1xxx) units. This also looks to be a great value & option for those traveling to a supported city but don't need the mapping data for the entire country/continent...just purchase & download the content that you need.

Cool - but why is this info presented in the form of a questionnaire? I said I was traveling to North America with an Oregon 400t and wanted to see all available content. The page dimmed down and I got an endless "pinwheel of death".
Geez, why not just give us a product page and let us figure out what we're interested in and what devices it runs on...
Does it make sense to buy any cityexplorer map for a city in the USA for a 765T? This won't have the pedestrian information, so will it add any more details than the City Navigator maps (that I already have)?
The City Navigator already shows every street as far as I can tell.

To find this out for myself, I purchased the Los Angeles cityXplorer map...
If you have the current CN maps for your country/area, purchasing a cityXplorer map for the same area will gain you nothing with a non 1xxx unit except for an updated (if your map version is not current) supplemental mapset of a city/area that you already have on your unit.
If you -do- have a 1xxx unit, this will give you the "enhanced pedestrian navigation" data but it's of course not compatible with non-1xxx units.
If you're planning a trip abroad and know where you'll be going, purchasing the cityXplorer maps may be worthwhile to you, regardless of if you have a 1xxx unit or not since you're not purchasing maps of the entire country just for one city/area.

That's my thinking also Sergzak. Particularly well-suited for a vacationing visitor who plans to take in all the sights. I know going to New York or Boston, a lot of my time is spent walking, not driving. And certainly if I fly to London for a three day visit, going no where else, why buy a regional map?

I ASSumed that this product would contain some sort of enhanced urban POI content. Is that not the case?

Not that I've seen in my very limited use. I'll have to do a side by side test/search for various POIs, etc. and see if any differences show up. I really doubt that there are differences though as the map version used is current (2010.10) with what I already have.

Will the Cityexplorer map give me turn-by-turn instructions with TTS voice for, say London UK map (with driving on the "wrong" side of the road) on my US 765T?
