HELP, can anyone tell me if the 1700 is NTSC compatible? I'm trying to hook up a backup camera, I did find the proper A/V Ipod 3 ring cord, but need to know about the NTSC situation. The camera I hooked up was CMOS, & the image was horrible. I may have a bad camera. Also, any camera recommendations. I'm a newbie, so be gentle! Thanks

I'm pretty sure it would be considered NTSC as both an NTSC DVD player and a Sansa View worked on my Magellan 9055, which is a similar model to the 1700.

The big trick is to get the right plug in for the 3.5mm that the GPS unit uses. I used the cable from a camcorder and had to switch the cables around to get it to work.

I have a picture on my review showing the connection clearly and the DVD player outputting the video from the player.
