Where did you get your information? I started up Home 1.6 and there was no indication of a version update. Logged in to TomTom Home and there's no indication there either of an update. If you know something we don't know, please share it.
A user on a British forum said he finally was able to dl the Mac 2.2 software version for TT Home but that running the virtual Go for the TT One wasn't an available option.
Here's more of his steps to get the proper version:
1st - Tried downloading latest version from TT website (got 1.5)
2nd - opened TT home 1.6.020 (nothing happen)
3rd - closed down and then opened again (asked if I wanted to download later version - noticed it's 2.2.016 not 033.

That doesn't work either... from either the UK or US site.

Does your version of TTHome have a menu option at the top thats says 'check for TomTom home updates'? (or something close)
Here is the deal. After an hour of frustration I got the problem licked.
You need to have your device connected to Home and after that you need to use the Preferences selection (in the main drag down menu on the top left) to request an update to TT Home. it will then tell you that it will inform you when DL is complete (there is a progress indicator at bottom right of the Home screen).
It bombed for me the first time, but worked the second time, shutting down Home and going to an install screen.
After that, when I tried to use Home to control the device, it said I needed another DL. I said yes and it did so, but at the end said it failed. However, t was able to turn on the device screen, but the result was a bit garbled.
Verdict, 80-90% of it works, but still needs ironing out. It is better than 1.6, but is a work in progress.
Tim... I downloaded it and it seems as if everything works except "Operate my device" I keep getting errors. Could Leopard as opposed to Tiger be causing the problem?

Dont worry.
Log out and reenter HOME. It works despite the error message.

[quote="infama"][quote="denisb1"][quote="Tim"]And if you quit HOME, OK... When I start Home a little window that says "loading" is on for about 20 seconds then the screen for DL all the cameras appears, at which point I back up to the Home screen. I click on operate my device and I get an error message. I do this several more times. I then log out as previously instructed and log back in. Operate my device still reports errors. It does not ask me to DL any files. I then quit the App and restart and all the above happens again.

10.4 or 10.5?
10.5
I have 10.4 availlable on my other Mac.
I also did this:
Trashed the Home App and reinstalled it. When the home screen came on I hit operate my device. the virtual TT came up and when I clicked on the screen the app crashed. Restarted it and then the same thing started happening again... that is I was getting the error message previously forwarded to you.

Let me apologise for my imprecision.
I should have said EXIT the Home application instead of log out.
You need to exit the Home app. and then re-open. At the same time, you should eject your Go and do a reset. After that you need to re-connect the Go to the Mac and to HOME and then log in, using username and password. THEN you can try operating your Go.
If this does not work, then I would uninstall and try reinstalling again.
I am using Tiger, BTW.

Tried it and it still doesn't work!
Did you get prompted to DL the missing file again?
If so, DL again and then close and re-open Home.
No... did not get DL missing file again.
Did you ever get prompted to DL a file to get Virtual Go to work?
On Tiger, I and othere got a prompt the first time to DL some needed file. it did it and then at the end said that there was a problem/error or something. I ignored that and started the virtual Go and there was gibberish on the virtual Go screen. I then shut down Home, ejected and reset the 920 and reopened, logged on and thereafter the Virtual go worked.

OK... I installed Home 2.2 on my Tiger machine and upon running the first time it wanted to DL the extra file and I DL it. It then gave me and error. I quit Home and restarted and then when I hit go to my device I got the error message that I previously stated.
I know that "reset" has been mentioned a few times here but I've been afraid to do it for fear of losing some files namely my NA 7.10 Map and all my itineraries. What will happen if I reset? BTW My TT is a 720 hacked for voice recognition.
hmmm... I'd say repair disk permissions and try again. By the sound of the error message it sounds like it isn't finding the file it previously downloaded... perhaps it couldn't be saved where it was supposed to go. But it also seems to think that the file was downloaded successfully since it isn't prompting it to download again.

No fear from a reset!! You need to do it often anyway.
Its is the restore to factory defaults that will wipe your itinerary files and favourites.
The VR mod is not a hack. It is identical to the Euro 720 original state. That should not be affected and even if it is, you can easily restore it.

OK here goes! I repaired permissions on my tiger machine and reset the 720 while still on, as requested. I then started Home 2.2 and hit "go to my device" and got the usual error message. I then quit Home and trashed it and reinstalled it. With Home open I hit " go to my device " again and still got the same error message
Curiously I went to system info and on the TomTom Home information under Installed add-ons there is "mapshare status indicator 1.1 emulator 7221.8572.3"
This info contains the word "emulator" same as the error message I keep getting. Could this have anything to do with my problem?
I spent over two hours on the phone with Tomtom help this morning. After reinstalling 1.5 and then 1.6 he sent me to anther person. He finally told me to try to download the upgrade early in the morning. He said they were only allowing a few updates each day to see how they were going to work. I will try again in the morning.

Well, I just DL Home 2.2 from the US website this morning and the first time I ran it I got the virtual 720 but when I clicked on the screen, it crashed. Restarted, but got the same errors as yesterday and the day before, upon clicking "Operate my device"
I tried again this morning. When I opened TomTom Home, it said I had a new version to download. When I clicked on it, it said it was not available. Now when I check for updates, it says I have the latest version, which is 1.6. I guess I will keep trying.
I downloaded and all seems to be ok. I can operate my 720 with no problems or crashes. Will keep everyone informed if there are any problems.
Thanks to all for help.
