For the update, should I "install all" and "update all"?

Do NOT install all and do NOT update all.

Use the arrows at the top of the screen to see what, if anything, is updatable, and be selective - only update what you need to update on your device, this way you won't wind up with 35 + different languages ... blah blah blah.

Oh oh,

I did update all, but not install all. I guess I will have to restore from backup at home if this is a problem.

Edit,

Its actually not too bad.

I have 152mb now, down from 178mb before. I have English, French, Spanish and 1 Hebrew voice.

@Infama - No harm done, you just end up with a lot of stuff you don't need.

Actually not too much at all. Only 26mb of space used up for the update and I am sure most of that was for the new nav version.

Install all would have been messy though, with all those unneeded voices and language menu screens!

Hey there Uncle Ben...how are you? Just what have HP addressed in the new updates? Is there a significant difference in the TTS as far as loudness? Have read that this has been corrected.

Thanks

Please do tell what the updates accomplished. All we know so far is that Susan is louder. I want to love the HP and may again depending on what has been improved. My biggest gripes were the muddled TTS and the limited number of characters displayed for the name of the next turn.

The new update is not out yet (I think, I have not checked yet though). This thread refers to the Dec 6 update.

Sorry for the delay ...Bea has been keeping me busy. As pointed out by Infam, the update isn't out yet. Stay tune. I gather that you haven't purchased anything yet, or have you?

Interesting dialog continues over at Mobilitysite.com

You do recall the tete a tete with the reviewer Jake and Lilly-Ann? Well I am continuing the debate with him, but in a more cordial manner. LoL

@Infama - well, when it comes to being cordial, it doesn't take much to do better than L.A. - not that I'm taking anything away from your posts, on the contrary, but just to emphasize the bluntness of her comments. While I do agree with most, and insist on most, of what she said in her posts; and while I do agree with her that the review was 'off the mark', I still think that she could have been a little more subtle ...

But you know what, having read your very smooth rebuttals to the 'rich' man, all I see from him is "I stand by my review.... I stand by my review ..."

So by the looks of it, it doesn't matter how thick you sugar-coat the message - this guy is right, he will always be right; and both you and L.A., and the 'thief' (a.k.a, burglar/bergler) are all wrong! Razz Razz Razz

Personally, I think the guy has a blockage, thus the reason I stayed out of it. My remedy for him is a lot, but I mean a lot of fibre. Perhaps I should send him an apple pie filled with 50% Metamucil - what say you? Razz I think that should help some, no?

HeeeHaaaa! Cheers!

No I am still looking. Surprised that the TT prices have not yet dropped with the x30's on the horizon Confused Had my hopes set that maybe just maybe the HP updates had come down but now I see that they have not? I am currently down in the US and I have checked the local shops here, Circuit City, Best Buy etc and they do not even have the HP in stock Confused TT 720 still in the $400 range.

By the way how is the new unit you rec'd working? All is well I hope?

Take care

Really an incredibly customizable device. The "economical" routing feature may prove quite useful. One BIG suggestion is allowing screen colors to be changed, particularly the night screen. The stylus is also pretty necessary for many menu buttons/functions, as they are too hard to control via simple finger pressure

This is a simple hack that is detailed at Passion:

Message:

AS ALWAYS - Please backup your device before attempting any modifications! Failure to do so (in light of a problem) could BRICK your Ipaq! (Keep a copy of your old Data.zip file handy in case you don't like the modifications!)

Below is the file with the color modifications. There are two files in the Zip folder; day3dcolor.ini and night3dcolor.ini. These files are part of your NAV\data.zip folder. Just unzip these two files to your desktop. Open your data.zip file on your device. Make sure you go to NAV\ui_hp_sagan\common\...
Add the two files here. Follow the instructions and you are all set.

A couple of things:
* These are MY optimal color schemes. You may not like them, or you may love them! I won't make ANY changes to them for individuals who would like "one or two things" tweaked. I am also not taking recommendations for future modifications...
* I am not going to, at this time, do any modifications to the 2d screens. I don't use them, and I only see them when I am planning a route. Out of sight, out of mind Smile.
* I hope you enjoy the schemes. I think they are MUCH better than the original...

http://www.gpspassion.com/upload/IPAQ_GO.zip"

I just did the hack and it worked! However, I am unsure if it is stable.
