PostGo 920 was great in France  Sat Mar 15, 2008 2:01 pm    Reply to topic Reply with quote

Just got back from a business trip to France, used the 920 to navigate from Basel/Mulhouse to Luxeil les Bains, and back to a hotel in
Saint Louis before the return trip. It's a trip I've made before, but unless I drive somewhere more than a couple times a year it's not comitted to memory Embarassed The 920 was teriffic, never let me down. It even pointed out the speed cameras. One minor issue, there were a couple instances of drifting when the car icon appeared alonside, rather than on, the road. This only lasted a couple seconds however.

Just wanted to pass along my positive experience.

Thanks for the post Mark29. We're going to France this summer and will be getting either a Go920 or 930 (If I don't run out of patience Very Happy ). It's good to know that my choice is a good one.

TT rules in Europe. It is THE brand. No surprise that you will be satisfied here..."everyone" has one.

You are lucky though, if you used the radar function in Switz and got caught, you would have lost the machine and paid a hefty fine!

To be honest, I didn't even realize the TT had that function - apparently it's on by default.

The unit shouldnt be supplied with Swiss radar POIs, so should not be a problem. Did you get radar warnings in Basel?

I don't recall exactly where they were, but I wasn't on the Swiss side anyway so the only warnings were on the French side.

Hi Mark29...I just bought a TT 920T and am going to France next month. Did the unit get "it's bearings" automatically when you turned it on in France? I can't see the European maps that are supposed to be installed, I suppose that's because the unit knows I'm in the US.
Thanks...

pianoblues - You can view the maps by going to Change Preferences -> switch maps, and selecting the other map.

How is it about addresses in Europe? In NA it is awful. It shows house location +-200 meters from the original place.
