Extracting Coordinates After the Fact... Wed Mar 26, 2008 11:25 pm
I have a 760....I used my "Where Am I" feature to set a Favorite...when I did that the coordinates were clearly visible.
However, when I returned home, I pulled up the Favorites...my entries were there but when I pulled them up, no Coordinates. I went into Edit, and could only change the symbol, name, etc.
Can anyone tell me how to extract the Coordinates from the locations I saved? I did this to record some playing field locations and I want to use them in the directions...short of driving back to all these locations and writing the Coordinates on paper.

The way I do this is to go to the "coordinates" option, enter the coordinates there, and then save to my favorites. I have about 20 or so favorites, two of which were set via the coordinates. When I pull either of those two up, it still shows the coordinates.
Seems like your approach should work too, but I guess not.

Thanks, I'll remember that for when I set the destination by coordinates....in this case I had driven directly to the location since I knew how to get there, and did the "Where Am I" to get the coordinates and save to Faves, thinking I could recall them later when at home.
I *thought* I had replied last night that I had found a workaround, I basically did a "Where to" and selected the field in Favorites, then went to map and "Set Location". I then did a "Where Am I" and it brought the standard screen up which had the coordinates...
With my Nuvi 260, I can use simulation mode to set a location, then touch the vehicle and it shows the coordinates of the vehicle's simulated location. Maybe that is a work around for finding the info you want?

Thanks, that's exactly what I did, forgot to mention I was in Simulation mode as I was in my basement on my PC and couldn't get a signal...
