This is a macbook pro intel. TTHome is 2.2.2.2 also. I just got off the phone with support and she told me it did not work, and to reload the old software in the 720. You would think they could get them all to work at the same time.
Well at least it's not just me. It never worked on my PPC Mac before so I just used the old Thinkpad, but I really don't need to "Operate my Go" that often anyway.

I'll take the working VR over Operate My Go.
I also realized that without the Operate My Go working the Google maps function won't work - can't send the destination to the device if you can't use that part of TT Home.
In addition for me I haven't received any Mapshare corrections since the 7.48 upgrades came out. I'm using a 920T with the latest 7.15 NA map.

I thought it was only me. I noticed I hadn't been getting Mapshare updates for a while and checked if I had turned it off. Home still says I have the latest maps and about 5000+ Mapshare corrections.

Updated my 720, works great, I think it's even faster than before. VR works fine as well.
Operate my Go doesn't work through HOME, says it's not supported. This is on an Intel box and a fresh install (new Mac) of HOME (2.2.2.28 ).
Same here. I have an intel Macbook Pro and Operate my Go still doesn't work. It did work prior to the 7.48 updates.

Doesn't work here either after update. I purposely kept trying to get into it to submit more errors to TomTom. Maybe the more error reports they get the faster they will fix it.

Does the new update bring back VR funtionality? After I upgraded to .480 I saw for the first time the VR icons, but it doesn't work.
Does the new update bring back the car icon functionality? I lost the ability to change the car poiter on the screen from a blue triangle to a car. There were several choices, includign taxis, motorcycles, antique cars, etc.

MapShare wasn't working 2 days ago and now it is working.
Mac or PC ? I tired last night.
Works on PC
Since these 7.48 updates I have not gotten any Mapshare updates for my 920. I was getting the gpsquickfix updates until today. While TT Home shows the available update when I click to download and install it I get an error message "map.mapsharelocalcache is null". I've repeated this several times with the same result. It seems there are still several significant bugs in this software.

Most people who have been having trouble with MapShare have gotten it working again by reinstalling HOME and/or clearing out existing MapShare changes from their device and starting over.

Tim, this time even the quickfix update is failing. That "map.mapsharelocalcache is null" message comes after trying to download the quickfix update that TT Home is showing available. From what I'm reading in other posts a lot of people ( most ? ) aren't getting mapshare updates at all, now I can't even get the quikfix update.

I'd perhaps try reinstalling HOME. I'm not having any trouble with QuickFix nor MapShare under the new version.
Actually I just tried it again, I had quit TT Home and restarted it. This time the quickfix update showed up again and downloaded and installed properly without that error message. Still no Mapshare updates showing. Where are those files kept and how would I go about removing them to see if that would get them to show as as available again?

I'll have to go find a file list for you, but you could try just removing them from the MapShare preferences from the device's menu itself.
I don't see any option on the device for removing them unless you mean unchecking the correction sources that I'm willing to get corrections from. Otherwise I don't see any file that can be removed or an option to remove them either on the device or through Home.
I did try reselecting receive mapshare corrections on the device and then connecting it to my computer to see if that would trigger them to be sent again but it didn't work.

From the North America folder try (backing up first) and deleting MapServerPatch.dat
I found that file. I'll try removing later. I'm leery of doing this since Home keeps saying everything is up to date, and the device is working properly. The only issues I'm having is the mapshare one as well as no longer being able to Operate My Go with Home on my mac. But I can live with that for now, just don't want to make things worse.
Thanks Tim,

I made a backup of the file, MapServerPatch.dat (size 196,608) and then deleted from the TomTom North_America folder. Exit Home and re-started it. I was able to download the new map shae. The new file is actually smaller. The file size is 192,512 bytes.

I still haven't tried removing that file yet. But what I did do was to go under the Tools menu of TT Home where there is a remove Mapshare option ( didn't know that was there before ) and I clicked on that. It then asked me to select whether to delete corrections I had made and/or corrections downloaded from TT. I selected just the ones from TT. Then I disconnected the device, shut it down and quit Home. Then I reconnected TT Home started up and found Mapshare updates to download for the first time since the 7.48 updates so I let it download and install them. When it was done TT Home showed the exact same number of mapshare corrections in use as before the 7.48 updates.
So I'm not sure if I actually accomplished anything or just got myself back to where I was. But if it can find updates to retrieve when I've removed them from the device I have to feel that there is an issue on going with the Mapshare service itself.

Just got an email reply from TT tech support. I was told that they have taken Mapshare off line for some type of fix. No estimate as to when it would be active again. I was also told that they are working on a fix for the emulator for TT Home.

.
deleted the support asr file before the upgrade. and the VR is working with out the file as well
.
as well as the 3rd party video TOMPLAYER from tomplayer.com working also

Apparently their servers are off line again. I believe people are also having problems obtaining new maps for their devices because of the server issues. Hopefully will be corrected soon.

What's the latest on this firmware - is it safe to update w/o doing anything else? I'm always a little bit leery of updating just because it's available.

I have a non-educated guess that TomTom has changed the policy and now we can get updates only on monthly basis.
If I'm right, I'd say that it is right decision. Daily updates deliver mostly redundant changes, consume bandwidth of servers and make us entertained and satisfied
The update has been very stable for me. You can keep your old version from within HOME just in case. You can also make a backup of the current state and have two fall-back methods.
i found that my updates not coming were caused by my brand new 8gb sdhc chip. the go720 will read for some things but has issues for others. so I saved my data to HD then formated the chip as 4gb and put my data back on and everything is working again. so 4gb is its MAX chip size. so I will get a true 4gb chip and use this 8gb in my camera.

.
the new software has been stable for me.
