They've added a couple of bitmap images when choosing whether to write to SDcard or intenal memory, apparently some tweaks for the x30's, and one poster mentioned an option to "personalize" your tomTom. Unless someone else has seen something significant with this update, and given the recent history of TT firmware, you might consider just leaving this one be. There is an update to the Mapshare counter, which has prevented some users from downloading mapshare changes. The odd thing is it didn't fix the counter problem. ???
Are you guys aware of any TT web page that shows what is being 'improved/fixed' for any new release ?
After installing the new version I connected my 920 and in addition to the usual Mapshare and Quickfix updates there was also a new version of the Susan computer voice. The version on my 920 was 690, the new version is 691. I have no idea what's changed in it but I'll be using it later on and maybe I'll notice something.
This version of TT Home still does not function for "Operate My Go" on a mac.

Other posters have mentioned the new "Susan" version as necessary for the x30's.
Which is my understanding, too. But, do you know if new 'Susie' (we're friends ) works on x20 units or is it best not to fool Mother Nature and stick with my 720 Susie?
(you may notice that I'm leaving it to others to be ß testers, eh? )
Received my new TT920 and am currently charging it for 2-3 hrs as suggested here. However in regards to the HOME software I have a couple of questions;
1- Should I install the cd that came with the 920 and then go to the website for the updates
or
2- Should I just go the website and download the lastest version to my laptop?
Also I have not checked which map version is in the unit yet but will do when the charging process is over. I do have the "latest map guarantee" in the box. The problem is that we do not have broadband in this area and downloading with dial up could be lengthy to say the least.
Do you know if TT will send out the updated version on DVD if asked?

Well, I went out on several excursions today and I didn't notice any changes in the voice but something new ( for me at least ) did occur. I've been using the traffic antenna/receiver with my 920 for a while now. Today it alerted me to two traffic situations on my route. The first time it said "Traffic situation, route recalculated but not changed" then about a minute later it said "route recalculated your arrival time is now 1:36" -this was the time of arrival not the length of time. Then later on another route same thing, alerted me to a traffic situation and said again "route recalculated your arrival time is 2:45". Now maybe these units have always done this but I've never had mine actually announce a time of arrival after a recalculation which was automatic I might add, I did nothing manually to cause it to recalculate.

I also strongly suggest you backup the entire unit to your computer or a dvd disk - and use Windows Explorer and make sure to show all hidden files/extension, system files and readonly files. TTHome does not back up EVERYTHING.
Since the TT server can be very slow even at broadband speeds and new maps hit GIGs in size, suggest you find a friend - dialup will probably not work. You can call TT support and see what they offer in your case.
I am Using Vista. When I back up my unit using Explorer, where do I go to ensure that the option of ensuring all extenions, hidden files etc are checked to ensure that they are copied
