Just curious what people are thinking about their Dash after a month? I've been watching the user reviews, primarily at Amazon, and what good reviews the Dash gets are for the traffic and connectivity, and for the Dash's potential, not as a navigator. It was the traffic coverage that really caught my attention, so it is somewhat disappointing that the basic GPS functionality is a problem since I do quite a bit of traveling.

hey upa, see your still undecided, after having my initial use, a few strange bugs have popped up for me, i submitted them through the device itself, and then filled a online form out with more info, dash responded to each within 2 business days, one within a few hrs, stating it was a previously unknown bug, passed to development for fixing/finding reasoning

anyways historical traffic update soonish(may), and software update in june, so if you want to hold out, i'll give you a review of whats fixed/how it's looking if you like, the routing isn't as bad as people suggest, people seem to be expecting the routing to be better than companies like garmin/tomtom....honestly i haven't seen much difference, every route i've received has been atleast realistic

on a side note i did manage to crash it trying to plan a trip to al hombra(i think thats how its spelled), from NH...it crashed........but planning a trip to my moms in wisconsin, from nh, it works fine, so go figure, there aware of the crash issue with it, just waiting to see when it gets fixed Smile

EDIT!

just tried to reproduce crash, couldn't, tried routing to texas, florida, CA(both new and previous crash address), LA airport, no crashes, so perhaps that crash was just a fluke, dunno!

Thanks for your feedback. Yeah, still undecided, not that I have to do anything right away. I was looking to have a new GPS by early May, looks like that won't happen, and I have a trip to ME coming up the end of June, so whether I'll have something by then we'll have to wait and see. I know there are a number of very good GPSs out there, but the quality and reliability of traffic is an issue, so I wait. I would appreciate hearing how it's going with the Dash, especially after the updates.

me and another member seem to have found that the dash has a memory leak somewhere, we just been brainstorming back and forth between the two of us.......and don't get me wrong, i am by no means a programmer, but just kinda waiting to see if a dash employee chimes in and see what they say, hopefully tomorrow they will Smile

Have you had any issue with mounting? I read a review that said it was too heavy to be mounted to the windshield. Does the dash mount work OK? What kind of mount is it?

It is the sturdiest mount I've used. Of course it also needs to support one of the largest GPS devices out there, but I've had no problems with the mount at all.
