PostTomTom Home internal server error  Mon Jun 02, 2008 12:09 am    Reply to topic Reply with quote

I've been getting this message every time I try to log in to TTH:

The Internet server had an internal error. It may be a temporary problem. Please try again later.

It's been happening since Friday evening, and it's now Sunday evening. Apparently not very temporary. It also happens on both my Mac (10.4.11) and my PC (XP SP2).

I was able to log in & do a bunch of things with my TT930 before this happened. I have two accounts & both get this error when I try to log in on either machine. I can use TTH in a limited manner with my device without logging in.

Any else having this problem? Is it truly a problem with TT's server or is my router/firewall/gateway (Apple Airport Extreme) in need of a config change, like port pass through or something else?

TIA

A major hosting site in Houston has had a fire, knocking out several sites (including one of the competing EU gps sites Very Happy ). That could perhaps be the issue. If so, the hosting site is projecting very late tonight for service restoration. But it's just a guess that the two are related.

gatorguy - I'm not sure I'd let TomTom off the hook for that one. As near as I can tell tracing packets, logging into HOME (where we are getting those errors) is still being done out of Amsterdam. Other parts of HOME, like downloading big maps, might be coming from somewhere more locally, but it looks like the login information is still coming out of The NL.

Back online as of this message time.

You'd think TT would put an announcement up on their website for something of this magnitude, rather than leaving things unknown.

Why would they do that? They've never posted anything at the website about "Latest Map Guarantee" check not working when it's out. (which seems to be most of the time) Rolling Eyes
