Yes, but much slower compared to charging via the car charger or an AC charger.

Which is faster to charge the battery: the car charger or the AC charger?

BTW, is there anyway to tell whether the battery is fully charged or not? I don't think it has a "fully charged" icon like the iPod.

No, there isn't a fully charged message. I think, but I'm not certain, the AC and DC chargers will charge at the same rate. Just USB is slower.

Does the charger go on trickle charge when the battery is full? Is there any harm that the battery will get overcharged?

I'm not really a battery expert so I couldn't say for sure.

No, lithium ion chemistry doesn't trickle charge. It will charge to 100% charge and stop.

Lithium battery is best stored about half discharged. The life is decreased when stored fully charged. Severely decreased when fully charged and stored at high temperature (inside the car).

I wish there was a switch to let you isolate the battery so that you can leave it about half full and disconnect it to prevent the charger from topping off to full every time you use it and ruin the battery. The lithium battery inside the GPS lives a very hard life usually living in the car at full charge at high temperature.
