Just got my new 930 and loving it so far. Question is i have a 2002 F150 and I am thinking of buying a pie connector to hook my tomtom directly to my stereo my question is with this set up can you listen to the radio/cd and still get your directions from your GPS over your stereo and if not is there a way to connect it to do that. Or is there a new radio that I can buy that will allow you to do that?
I don't know of any devices that will automatically change the source of audio based on the presence or absence of audio coming from a different source. Perhaps they exist, though they would have to be "fast" to not cut off the first part of the new audio source.
Well we know they exist thats how the ones work that come factory with GPS installed. My mother-in-laws is a Lincoln crossover and works that way. I will be willing to buy a new radio if i need to but i dont think im willing to buy a new car. haha I think ill look at Bestbuy and see whats out there! If tomtom would have only added a simple little radio tuner in the GPS we would be fixed up. So if i get this straight I have to load all my music on my GPS or ipod to listen to music and still get my GPS directions over the radio at the same time. What does everyone else do?

Yeah, but that is an integrated system that is essentially serving as a single audio source. The TomTom has no way of "communicating" with your radio to tell it "hey, I'm about to say something so stop listening to what the radio station has to say and play be for a few seconds." What you are describing is really a single piece of equipment versus the multiple device setup of the TomTom plus radio.
That's not really what I needed to hear that means I have about a 1000 songs I need to convert to MP3. Maybe you can answer this question in all the info I have read it says the 930 can play MP3 but itunes format is AAC will the GPS play these songs? How about with the ipod connection cable or will I have to convert all them to MP3? Also will it hold the new 8gig high capacity sd cards I cant find anywhere that says what the max size is or card types it can use.
The 920 can handle a 8 gig sdhc card so I'm sure a 930 can BUT remember that these models can only read/write to the first 4 gigs so the usual remedy is to (via Explorer) load the mp3's in a folder called mp3 (all lower case) while the card is in a sd card reader; it will not work while the sd card is in the unit.
The TomTom's can only read mp3 files. Cannot itunes save as that format?
If not, the web is full of utilities which can. Here is a link to some of them: http://www.sharewareguide.net/Audio-Multimedia/Audio-Converters/index.html

The 930 supports the high capacity SD cards. Given that, I wuold think you could use just about any size.
The GPS will not play AAC format. It has to be MP3.
If you are connecting your iPOD, you should be able to play any format that the iPOD can read. Also, TomTom support says "Make sure you have the latest updates from the Apple website installed on your iPod."
The TomTom will only play MP3 encoded music, not AAC encoded songs. The iPod connection cable will, however, play any music files the iPod can play. There are many threads here about which SD cards work :
