Map Corrections: Speed Limits Thu Jul 31, 2008 11:13 am
How come when I enter in a speed limit, say 45mph, it displays on the main screen as 44? Why the 1mph difference? But speed limits supplied with the map are correct.
BTW, I'm using v8 firmware and 7.15 map (anxiously awaiting v8 map!).
There is a bug in the algorithm for the conversion of mph kph -->back to mph. Rounding and truncating incorrectly.
Feeling is that, TomTom being a European company, all speeds entered in mph are converted to kph (what most European countries use) and then back for display purposes if your setting is to show mph.
Just another example of sloppy coding and poor testing.
Ok, adding 1mph does NOTHING! as it still reports 1mph slow and when I go back to change it again it shows the correct MPH and not my "adjusted" speed.
