After installation, can you state what update/upgrade you've noticed ?
I got the 2100Max and looking what POI, software issues, etc. may have been resolved.
Any input is appreciated.

Has anyone had any luck with the new maps for the Mac? I tried to download the guide, but no luck, and none of the icons show up on the download page. I know we can't use the fresh program, this is just to download the updates. I emailed support also, and will post their reply.

Good luck. You are forced to install Navigon Fresh and when I installed it on my laptop running Windows XP SP3, ran it and chose to do a backup before installing FreshMaps, it locked up at 5% and I ended up doing a hard boot. Now, even after uninstalling and reinstalling can't get software to run and there is no other way to install FreshMaps and no support until Monday. You may find it to be a blessing that your device is at work. No Google posts yet about this so maybe I am the only one but that does not seem likely.

Embarassed Update: Did install on a different machine and the install looked very different for some reason. What I mean is that there was at least one screen I didn't see on the laptop install and when the install was finished, I ended up with a completely different screen. So, to be fair, maybe it is something with the laptop. Oh, well, I'm still ticked at them because I never got an email about FreshMaps being released, even though I was signed up for the newsletter! Wink

Cheers,
Stretchr

Nubee here with a silly question. Last night I activated and attempted to install fresh maps to my 2100max. How can I tell if I now have the new maps on my Navigon? I ask because the download took forever, hours. (I use a DSL connection, my PC is Quad 4 with 4 gigs memory). Is this normal? Did I do something wrong? I simply plugged my unit to my PC with the supplied usb cable, turned the unit on, and downloaded via NavigonFresh. I went to bed after 2.5 hours and 50% complete, woke up with a finished screen on the PC. Sound right? Sorry if this seems ridiculous.

If you own more than one unit, say a 5100 and a 7100, can you buy one map update and put the maps on both of them?

No, you need a separate map license for each device.

I don't know if their servers were bogged down or they limited their bandwidth but my download also took quite a long time. As for the install, I found out with my Delorme PN20 that updating through the GPS always takes a lot longer than putting the memory card into a card reader of some kind. At least that's been my experience.

For me, doing the backup before applying the update is what seemed to take forever, but the update was pretty slow, as well.

I, too am finding lots of directional errors, even with the newest update. I'm not very impressed so far and I sure wouldn't want to try going to somewhere new without having a map along with me.

Cheers,
Stretchr

That is one are that Navigon could do better. With the 12 updates they are basically giving 12 map licenses over 3 years. I would definitely like to have an option to upgrade multiple units, just less updates in total, especially if they are the same model or lower than the original.

I don't know what has to be done to upgrade two models, does each require a separate installation on a separate computer or something else very cumbersome?

Haven't tried this but from the looks of the "Fresh" program, you can manage different units by loading the information for each into your MyNavigon account. I also read somewhere that you had to get individual licenses (which makes sense).

You are legally required to get different licenses. The technical hurdles can be overcome by a 12-year-old
